Scope and controller

digitalis.io Limited is the controller for personal information described in this policy. The company is registered in England and Wales under company number 09849457, with its registered office at 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX

This policy applies to the PulsusDB product and documentation websites and direct correspondence about PulsusDB. Other digitalis.io services and third-party websites have their own privacy notices

02

Information we collect

  • Technical request data such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information, referring page and security events recorded by hosting or content delivery infrastructure
  • Website usage information such as pages viewed, interactions, device and browser details, referring pages and approximate location when you allow analytics
  • Contact details, company information and message content that you choose to provide through a PulsusDB contact or support form, by email or through another direct communication channel
  • Public contribution information that you submit to GitHub, such as an account name, issue, pull request or discussion
03

Cookies, analytics and external resources

The PulsusDB product and documentation websites use Google Tag Manager to manage analytics tags and Google Analytics 4 to measure how the websites are used. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are not loaded unless you allow optional analytics cookies. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation remain disabled

When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics may set the first-party cookies _ga, which distinguishes users, and _ga_<container-id>, which retains session state. Google documents a default lifetime of two years for each cookie, although browser limits and configured settings may shorten that period

The preference pulsusdb.analytics-consent.v1 is stored in local browser storage until you change it or clear the website data. It is used only to remember whether optional analytics cookies may be used. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops analytics and removes Google Analytics cookies visible to the website

When analytics is allowed, Google may process website usage, device, browser, referrer, IP address and approximate location information. The website also loads typefaces from Google Fonts, so a visitor’s browser may connect to Google to retrieve those files. Links to GitHub and other websites do not send you to those services until you follow them

04

Purposes and lawful bases

  • Operate, secure and diagnose the website on the basis of our legitimate interests in providing a reliable public website
  • Measure website usage and improve the website when you have given consent
  • Reply to enquiries and manage project communications on the basis of legitimate interests or steps requested before entering a contract
  • Investigate security reports, misuse and legal claims on the basis of legitimate interests and legal obligations
  • Meet accounting, regulatory and other legal obligations where applicable
05

Contact forms and bot protection

Contact and support form submissions are processed by a Cloudflare Pages Function and delivered to the PulsusDB team through Google Workspace email. The form data is used to respond to the enquiry, discuss requested services and maintain an appropriate business record

On pulsusdb.io, Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether a submission appears to come from a person rather than an automated system. Turnstile may process technical request information such as IP address, browser characteristics and interaction data for security and abuse prevention. This security check is separate from optional analytics consent and is used only when the form is submitted

06

Sharing and service providers

Information may be processed by providers that support website hosting, content delivery, security, analytics, email and professional advice. The website is delivered using Cloudflare infrastructure and uses Cloudflare Turnstile, Google Workspace, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Fonts. Those providers process information under their own terms and applicable data protection obligations

We may disclose information where the law requires it, to protect legal rights or to investigate abuse. We do not sell personal information

07

International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections

08

Retention

Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security, diagnosis and service operation. Analytics information is retained according to the retention settings applied to the PulsusDB Google Analytics property. Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, maintain an appropriate business record and meet legal obligations. Public GitHub activity is retained under GitHub and repository administration settings

09

Security

We use organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Security concerns relating to PulsusDB should be reported through the private route described on the Security page

10

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office

To exercise a right, contact [email protected]. We may need information to verify your identity before acting on a request

11

Children

This website is intended for professional and technical audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children
